Les technologies évoluent vite et les entreprises sont de plus en plus nombreuses à s’équiper de systèmes de sécurité intégrant des caméras wifi sans fil La camera sans fil fonctionne avec la technologie Wifi ou 2.4Ghz par des ondes radio. Elle peut avoir différentes fonctionnalités (led infrarouge, IP, intérieur, extérieur…). Elle fonctionne avec un récepteur qui peut être placé jusqu’ 100 mètres mais peut avoir des problèmes de stabilité.

Aujourd’hui nous utilisons beaucoup la technologie 2.4Ghz alors pourquoi s’en priver alors qu’elle est utile notamment en cas de panne de courant. De plus, vous n’avez pas d’énorme travaux à effectuer pour l’installation de camera sans fil puisqu’il n’y pas de câble.

Comment fonctionnent les caméras wifi ?

Le wifi permet de bénéficier d’une connexion de type Ethernet sans fil pour relier la caméra et le routeur (box Internet par exemple). La caméra doit toutefois être alimentée en électricité (sauf s’il s’agit d’une caméra autonome, capable de fonctionner sans alimentation extérieure).

La portée du réseau peut attendre 100 mètres (cette portée peut être améliorée en ajoutant un répartiteur), les cameras wifi peuvent être utilisées à l’intérieur ou à l’extérieur.

Toutes les caméras sans fil ne sont pas nécessairement des caméras wifi, il existe également :

  • Des caméras sans fil analogiques. Fortement perturbées par les ondes (GSM, wifi, Bluetooth…), elles sont néanmoins en voie de disparition.
  • Des caméras sans fil numériques associées à un récepteur branché sur un écran ou un enregistreur numérique (contrairement à une caméra wifi qui est reliée à un routeur ou à une box.

Les caméras sans fil numériques sont principalement destinées à de la surveillance sur place (petit commerce de détail, portier….). Les images des caméras wifi peuvent être visualisées à distance ou sur place depuis un ordinateur, une tablette ou un Smartphone.

Camera wifi : les avantages

  • L’avantage le plus évident de la caméra wifi est qu’elle ne vous oblige pas à installer du câblage entre votre routeur et votre caméra (attention, dans la plupart des cas, la caméra doit quand même être alimentée en électricité)
  • Vous visualisez les images sur votre ordinateur (PC ou Mac), votre tablette ou votre Smartphone (iPhone ou Androïde). Vous pouvez les regarder en direct ou en différé, les conserver sur votre serveur ou dans le Cloud, utiliser des logiciels associés (intégration dans un système de point de vente ou de gestion technique de bâtiments)… Notez que visualisation à distance est indispensable si vous souhaitez qu’une société de sécurité tierce puisse accéder aux images (télésurveillance).
  • Evolutivité : un système de vidéosurveillance numérique peut facilement s’adapter à vos besoins sans qu’il n’y ait de modifications importantes de l’infrastructure réseau.
  • Les systèmes IP /wifi sont en général moins chers que les alternatives filaires à câblage coaxial. Les coûts de gestion sont aussi inférieurs (stockage sur des serveurs standards, pas de matériel propriétaire…).

Comment choisir une caméra wifi ? Combien ça coûte ?

La possibilité d’être connectée en wifi est une caractéristique parmi d’autres. Les caméras wifi sont des caméras IP dont le tarif dépend des fonctionnalités. Les prix démarrent autour de 70 euros et peuvent grimper très vite.
